 1. WHAT IS ‘THE SUNFLOWER FORUM’ ?


The Sunflower Forum is a safe space for Service Users and Carers to have their say.


  • It is for people in the Music24 community to share their ideas, thoughts, and feelings.

  • Everyone is listened to with kindness and respect.

When and where?

  • The Forum happens every 2 months.

  • The meeting is on Zoom (online).

  • Each meeting lasts for 1 hour.


Who runs the Forum?

Helps to support and organise

Who can join?

  • Anyone who comes to Music24 sessions or 1:1 support is welcome.


What happens in the meeting?

  • People can share ideas or concerns.

  • These can come from:

    • Someone in the meeting

    • A Music24 staff member

    • Voice Box messages received at sessions or online

  • In the meeting we:

    • Talk about problems and solutions

    • Share opinions

    • Learn from each other

  • Sometimes, bigger ideas need more time.

    • These are looked at by the Senior Management Team outside the meeting.


Why do we have the Forum?

  • To make Music24 and the world around us a better place.

  • To listen to each other.

  • To make sure every idea is respected.


After the meeting

  • Notes (called Minutes) are written down.

  • If you miss the meeting, you can ask for a copy.

  • News about the meeting is also shared:

    • Here on the Music24 website

    • In Music24’s WhatsApp groups

    • Or given out at music sessions


2. THE SUNFLOWER FORUM CODE OF CONDUCT

These guidelines help everyone feel safe, respected and listened to.

1️⃣ All ideas are important

  • Every suggestion or concern matters.

  • Please treat all ideas with respect.

  • Service Users and Carers should feel comfortable sharing what is on their mind.

2️⃣ Take turns to speak

  • Please raise your hand or wait until it is your turn.

  • Everyone will get a chance to talk.

  • If you do not wish to speak, you can use the Chat Box option.

  • Do not speak over others.

  • Let people finish what they want to say.

  • This helps everyone feel able to share their views.

3️⃣ Be kind and respect privacy

  • Be kind and supportive to others.

  • Do not criticise or insult anyone.

  • Music24 values equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • If you are worried about someone, please speak to a staff member in private.

If your message is Personal, it will be passed on to a suitable member of staff who will contact you to discuss further.

If your message is General, it will be considered for inclusion in the next Forum’s Agenda.
