Music24 Receives £70K From Global's Make Some Noise

Today, we are very excited to announce that we have received a grant from Global’s Make Some Noise – the official charity of Global, the Media & Entertainment group – to help support our life changing work in Luton and across Bedfordshire in providing music making opportunities for adults with dementia, learning disabilities and mental health challenges.

We have been awarded a grant for £70K from Global’s Make Some Noise thanks to generous donations from the UK public and partners. The grant will support our services across Bedfordshire.

Teela Hughes-Davis, our CEO said, “To receive this kind of support is truly amazing! It will enable Music24 to continue to provide a vital lifeline to some of the most vulnerable people in our community, who live with ill health and disability. The funding will help us provide unique and therapeutically-focused music sessions to people living with dementia and their carers, people with learning disabilities, and to people recovering from mental health issues.

“The power of music is transformational. The sessions support people to build self-confidence and develop a strong peer support network. Due to this funding, many people’s lives in Bedfordshire will be immeasurably better by having the opportunity to experience the profound impact it can have!”

Music24 is one of the 39 small charities who received a share of the funding from Global’s Make Some Noise, for life-changing projects in local communities across the UK.

The funding will provide a vital lifeline in communities – supporting Global’s Make Some Noise continued vision that nobody in the UK should face life’s toughest challenges alone, tackling issues such as mental health, poverty and homelessness.

Every year, grants are awarded to small charities across the country to help fund the vital services they offer. Since its launch in 2014, Global’s Make Some Noise has supported 566 incredible local community projects and made a life changing difference to over 240,000 people across the UK.
